With some leftover gift certificates I received, I made some great purchases.
The first thing I bought was a new Humminbird Pirhanamax 170 dual beam fish finder. I needed to replace the POS Eagle that I bought last year. I used the Eagle twice before the connection corroded and became as useless as tits on a bull. The PM170 seems like a much better unit out of the box. The bottom transducer is flat and the cord is more flexible, making the installation much easier. The picture quality is also much better than the Eagle as well.
The second thing I purchased was a PrecisionPak, which covers the milk crate used for storage and includes a triple rod holder. This is a great prodect to help keep you organized on the water. Nothing is worse than trying to dig through your gear to try and find something while the waves and boat wakes are rocking you off balance.

This past Sunday was the first time this season I was able to get out and do some fishing. The day started off slow. I was fishing the outer point of a cove, casting paralell with the bank and overgrowth, then I noticed some moron on a giant bass boat using his trolling motor to steer right towards me and making no attempt to change his course (Keep in mind, this is a county lake that forbids the use of gas motors in this lake). Finally I got pissed, gave him the old stare down while I planned my next move. After a second or two, I paddled as load as I could, splashing as much as I could right around his boat. Then I quietly made my way to the area he had just fished. Thats where I caught my two rainbow trout of the day. Pay backs are a bitch!!!
